Finally 5!

We've been talking about turning 5 since the winter it seems.  Everything seems to come with being 5.  Kindergarten, eating 1 more than 4 bites of food at dinner.  Learning to tie shoes.  T-Ball games.  Just simply being bigger than a 4 year old.  Henry, you have grown up so much this year in personality and body.  I have watched you transform (yes, like the transformers you like) from a meek little shy guy to a full on crazy, sassing back BOY.  It has been fun having a neighbor boy (Bruin) to watch you try and match what he does.  How fast he runs, then how fast you can run.  How good at riding his scooter to you practicing on your scooter.  You still have quite the infatuation with Super Heroes.  Particularly because Avengers just came out.  You and Julia are always playing rotating roles as Thor, Hulk (smash), Iron Man.  You still love to be Spiderman most of all though.

You are an awesome brother to Julia and I know you are always watching out for her.  Sometimes you are nasty to each other but I know deep down you really are a sweetheart and have a special place in your heart for her.  Just last night we were at the park and you guys were waiting in a cluster of kids to have your turn to climb the ladder.  You were a little unsure how to get around all the kids so you just put your arm around Julia's neck and gave her a pat on the shoulder.  She put her arm around your waist like you guys were in it together and waited until the path cleared. Made me almost want to cry seeing you both so sweet to each other.

Here are some of your favorites:

Eats: Peanut Butter and Honey sandwiches, bread, the verdict is out on fish.  You said you really liked it but you had also been yelled at for not eating any bites and you had kind of a look of disgust on your face.  You keep talking about how good it was though.

TV/Movies: Scooby Doo movies, Hero Factory, Team Umizoomi, Wild Kratts, and you like Dora more instead of Diego it seems.  Whatever.

Activities: Digging in the dirt, running around flinging webs or acting superheroish, starting to FINALLY pedal your bike!, reading books, hiding when Daddy or someone comes through the door.

Clothes: you may be starting to even out here a bit.  I actually got you some non-superhero shirts and you wear them!  Without complaints.

Henry, this is going to be an awesome year for you ahead.  I still can't believe how teeny tiny you once were and now are a full fledged BOY.  I look at you in amazement most days and say "who are you?"  How does life happen so fast?  Love you little buddy muffin.

4 tidbits of your thoughts:

Kaitlyn, this is so awesome! I remember you reading your parents' notes at our Senior retreat and how cool I thought it was that they had done that over the years. What a treasure you are leaving your kids. Maybe, just maybe you inspired me:) Happy Birthday month to your family!

Henry-Happy Birthday!
I'm so proud of you and the BIG BOY you are growing into. Before Papa Larry left us to go to Heaven, he only wanted one wish granted. That he would be able to talk to you and that you would talk back, play superheros, and tell you funny stories that you would love to hear. He made sure that you had enough Dinosaur poop for show and tell, and that as you grow older, that you would remember him.
Henry-You will ALWAYS hold a special place in our hearts. I pray that God blesses me with TIME, to continue to watch you grow, play baseball, run fast and jump high, and continue to be the sweet sensitive little guy you are.
BE HAPPY and enjoy being 5.
